Hello everyone!

Yes, it has been sometime since I posted and I am assuming some have given up on me and just went away and some very loyal followers kept me on the side lines and always tagged along and looked for me in hopes that I make an appearance. You all are SO wonderful and have been throughout the years!

I've had my ups and downs but I never did stray away from my lens. Taking photos never gets old, never gets boring and to me, it's not a hobby, it's an instinct and something that must be done, a part of breathing.

However in life, other things take over where I cannot maintain the blog. Health reasons is number one and I need to concentrate on that. It is imperative I take the time and my energies that I manage to muster up from time to time, to divide into other activities and sometimes that is very limited. It is not fair to you, my friends, to leave you hanging and waiting for a photo or two from me.

Therefore with great sadness, I must close this blog down. It is something that I have fought in my head for some time. I will miss all your constructive comments, whether it be good or bad.
But I truly have learned a considerable amount about photography, life and about people in general. Things I will never forget until the day I die.
I will not stop taking pictures, like I said earlier, it is what I do, what I am, who I am. But for now, I cannot take the time in my illness to portray them and I pray to God that perhaps one day, my Epilepsy and all the medications I take will calm down enough for me to show you how beautiful the world looks in my eyes.

Purple Day For Epilepsy

Fast Food !??!?

... Oh nothing too fancy here this time. A little trail we took up along a river that was really biting with not fish but with mosquitoes! OUCH! We were bitten so many times!!! So it was more of a trot than a walk so pictures were a scarce! =)

The Little Bird That Could!

This little fellow did a nasty fly "bump" into the patio window on our third floor patio of our building. Golly, I hate the sound of birds hitting the window. It makes my stomach turn over.

These little guys buzz around here left and right, but I'm not sure of the bird name but their songs are ever so pretty.

He was so dazed and I let him be for a while and feared that he had broken a leg or wing but he managed to shake it off and walk around and hopped on my finger!

He looked at me curiously but almost seemed happy to know that there was somebody there to take care of him.

Soon he was ready to flap off into the tree right in front of the patio and we could watch him for a bit and next thing we knew... he was gone!

I'm happy he was OK...

Let's Keep On Going!

Continuation from my last post on my trip to the Alberta province...

You need to forgive me on some of the quality of the photos, I couldn't stop on the highway, there were NO places on the freeway and tight spots so of course it was out of my window and the windshield and GEE, the bugs were not watching where they were going and opted to hit the windshield and you know what kind of mess that makes!!

Along the way, I spotted this old relic of a car... he was well "stickered- up" as he chugged on by us. How appropriate an old mine was its backdrop...

I love wind turbines as much as I love my Canadian Geese! I find them fascinating and so BIG. A giant that looks so gentle with its waving arms yet so powerful to generate so much energy. I am in awe when I see these! I can never get enough of these!!! I would love to have one of them in my back yard!

I saw structures that I wasn't sure what they were. Coming from within a mountain town, it was awesome to see. I was guessing what it might be... I was thinking this might have to do with grains and such... It just looked really neat.

This train was SO long and I lost count counting all the cars. HA! But I imagine it had something to do with the last photo and getting all the grains loaded into it.

Encounters With The Flat Lands! But First.....

We took a bit of a trip out to Alberta, the next province over from British Columbia here from where I live in Canada. Alberta is different in some ways but ever so beautiful in its unique ways. I love visiting Alberta, but I would so miss the mountains, the wildlife and the forests...

On the way to Alberta, we spotted a lot of wildlife.
I did manage to spot these guys. Sorry for the poor pictures. It was dark but I did the best I can without spooking them and they were off in the distance. I had to shoot them from the window of my Jeep.

I have to say, traveling through, I saw the mountains disappear and nothing but flat lands and farms appeared. Now I'm not used to farms and cows. So the smell was something I was enduring for many many miles and WOW... it was something!! Cows are amazing! HA! But I am sure all this land makes GOOD money but I already missed my mountains...

Amazing how you can see the road way ahead in flatter areas, no corners around mountains, that was so cool!

OH you silly dog!

We were looking to have a bit of a campout but only for the day. It's not easy to have them on the beach as the signs state NO DOGS ALLOWED! It's really sad, as I wish I could take my little puppy out to different areas but I suppose I must respect others even though he is just like a human being.
But we found a campground and found a vacant campsite and set up picnic for the day and Marcell and him set out to collect wood for the fire so we can start roasting up the hamburgers and hotdogs!!

He's quite the helper! Don't you think so?? That's quite the piece of wood that he's bringing in!

He looks up as to say, "I think I brought in more wood than you, Daddy. You better go out and get more!"

Blu decided after a bit that this piece of wood, even though it was the size of him, was much too valuable to burn and hung onto to it for dear life. It was now his trophy and held it with pride!

OH , that's OK, Blu, I think we've got enough to cook up a feast. It's a beautiful fire!

And what Blu didn't trample to death in the bushes, I quickly snapped a picture of these pretty purple wild flowers!

Almost all winter long this bird, which I thought was a woodpecker but I'm thinking it can't be. BUT I'm SO dumb with birds, and we all know that, I just love to look at them and listen to them but I'm thinking this is a Starling or something along that line but then again maybe it is a different type of woodpecker but most of the winter it would TAP, TAP, TAP, TAP on this vent outside on the top floor of our building and would drive everyone crazy. It would pull at that metal, and just day after day work so hard to get into that wall!

I apologize for the poor photo as I didn't have my good camera at the time, only my pocket camera but shot these at the time this little guy was furiously trying to get into that vent!

NOW today, I hear in the walls, many many cries of little baby birds so it is obvious this momma bird got into the wall to lay her eggs.
Does someone know the bird?
I am so happy that it did not nest on my side of the wall!!!!

Blu The Easter Bunny??!!??

I took Blu, our now one and half year old Yorkie, to a mountain lake about 15 minute drive from here, and the grasses were about 3 feet high and he was having the time of his life bouncing around the green blades like a happy bunny rabbit!

I got on my belly in the grasses and took the picture of what it would look like in Blu's eyes. I could smell the fresh grass and the air and could see why it would make anyone want to bounce around!!

Out At The Lake

We were able to take the very long drive to the lake. It's not often that we can get out there but when we can, it's absolutely wonderful! We just don't have the big lake where we are, just the smaller mountain lakes, so this is a treat!

A jet plane zooms over the snow capped mountains in the bright blue sky. It was such a pretty day!

I would love to own a home for the summer along the lake...

My Feathered Friends

It's been awhile since posting... a host of medical ailments plagued me. Alas, I bounce back and I continue on my merrily way trying to soak up life the best way I can. Upon coming out of the hospital a few weeks ago, a friend alerted me to some special friends that would be arriving soon and sure enough, I was able to get to the lake in time before they all grew up!

I adore these fellas, they will always be my favorite!

We were walking along the dirt road and come across these dirt hills but believe me when I tell you my knowledge of birds is very slim. I only know that they are wonderful creatures that I adore!
But I really enjoyed these homes of the little birds that darted in and out of these holes. They were quick and smooth as they soared into their circular homes.

I wonder though how these hills don't cave in with all these holes but I suppose they are spaced well apart.
What bird does these? I know someone out there knows. I just adore the architectural look of this, it is fascinating! What do you think?

Purple Day!

Hello Everyone!

As we all know, today is March 26th.
A very important day for me indeed! It is PURPLE DAY!

Purple day is to increase awareness about epilepsy and seizure disorders worldwide!
Epilepsy affects over 50 million people worldwide or approximately 1 in 100 people. That's more than multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and Parkinson's disease combined.

Dozens and dozens of countries all across the world join together to participate in this event, to help those suffering from this illness!

I have epilepsy. I suffer seizures anywhere from 5-6 each month which is relatively good considering what I used to. That was almost a daily number for me.

I am not embarrassed to talk about my seizures, nor offer advice to those that have the illness.
There's just so many misconceptions about epilepsy.

My medications are wide and harsh and often can knock out an elephant but somehow I manage to pick myself up and get out to enjoy the world.
Some days, it's not easy.

With Purple Day, it's an exciting event/day so that we can learn about Epilepsy! Those that have it are just normal people trying to survive in life just like you and also Purple day will help you teach you what to do if you do come across someone having a seizure.

Please support it today by wearing purple, be it a shirt, or even as small a pin. Let everyone know what it is for!!

Now my blog might be a little sporadic with photos as I am going through a very difficult time with a seizure episode. The last few months have been up and down but this post was very important to put in. Hopefully when the right medications are connected, I will be posting regularly again.

It's almost as if I was in an airplane but no, I was not. I was just out and about and shot these while cruising the mountain roads with my husband.

It's understandable why the Avalanche warnings are so extreme here in the Rockies of BC in Canada. They urge folks not to ski or snowmobile alone in out of bounds area. As beautiful as it is, it can be very dangerous and some already have found the loss of family members...

While in Nelson a bit back this summer, we saw the Electric Streetcar #23- a 105 year old fully restored streetcar prior to 1949, come through the city. A neat sight to see. The next time we are here we will take some time to ride it...

Along our walk, we saw lots of air traffic due to the little airport that was situated within the city. It was neat to see all the little airplanes and helicopters buzzing back and forth thru the skies over the mountains. Not something I'm used to seeing at all from where I live...

A Green Walk

We walked through one hike area by a beautiful creek setting where the trees were thick.

The shade was incredibly cool from the sun and there was this spectacular green moss everywhere. It was quite a sight to see.

It was a long a difficult battle in proving who I am and what I was capable of doing in the real world despite my handicap of epilepsy and after 2 years in the workforce... I lost.

I will rise above them, I will conquer, I will not let my epilepsy control who I become, watch out world, it has only made me a stronger person...

The Big Orange Bridge

I found this bridge to be quite intriguing in Nelson. It was built in 1957, spanning the West Arm of Kootenay Lake at Nelson. The bridge replaced a cable ferry which had moved cars, trucks and people across the lake for many years.

I love the lines and shadows it creates!

Skywatch- Thunder Storm Brewing

In the late evening, this awesome thunderhead developed right before our eyes as the sun sank and the night sky slowly started to engulf the sky.
Small shards of lightning danced within the cloud that gave it an eerie luminescence glow. It was a fantastic lightshow of nature.

Off in the distance, a few crows soar in the whirlwind caused by the storm.

As the sun set, the colors changed dramatically and quickly...

Out by the lake, we parked the Jeep, walked down through the long grasses to the waters.
It was hot that day and hundreds of dragonflies were everywhere doing the mating dance. Quite an interesting sight to see.
A lone camper across the way sits in the shadows of the majestic mountain peaks. A very peaceful place to rest your weary soul and do some fishing...

It was so awesome to see these fields across from the Rocky Mountains. The colors of bright yellows and greens were spectacular as the hot sun shone down. I can only imagine how it must have looked from high above!

We are traveling through the mountains along the lakeside, come around the corner and almost made an early Thanksgiving dinner of this duo! =)

We abruptly stopped and they scampered left and right and circled all around.

I had to take photos FAST out the front window of the car,that's why they aren't as clear and of course the birds were scampering.

One bolted off the cliff to the left but the other zipped across the Jeep front, pushed through the wildflowers and climbed the rocky mountains.

The expression on the face was priceless!

Artwork In The Park

These are some of the park and garden statues and I caught as we took a walk last week. The park was very shady and offered so much cool comfort from the sun, it was so nice to relax under its leafy canopy!

When we hopped onto the Ferry this weekend to cross over the Kootenay Lake, we saw the Ferry come in from the other direction...

Some shots of the surrounding area. It was really hot this weekend. WHEW! Even the wind from the 30 minute Ferry ride was not even much cooler than just standing still...

American Coots

Normally the Coots here are extremely skittish and hard to photograph. For some reason as well, there aren't many around, just a few scattered here and there along the wetlands spots but either way, I spotted a family at a wetland area that was quite protective and aggressive so I dare not get too close as the high pitched "PeeP PeeP" from the young ones made the adults quite upset.

I do believe this particular Coot is the American Coot because of the red knob above the beak whereas the other species of Coot is the black Coot and has only a white face without the red knob. If anyone knows otherwise, feel free to let me know!

It's as if mama coot is giving baby a kiss or perhaps some advice on swimming... =)

Again, sorry for the absence from blogging. It will be off and on like that until health issues get under control. Was released from hospital last weekend after a week in ICU after a bout of seizures but I'm happy to say, I'm getting stronger every day! So, do not worry. I'm a fighter and the mountain air does wonders! =)

A stop along the river was breathtaking. A beautiful day to do just that! There's the tunnel we needed to pull through along the highway. I love that mountain tunnel. It's my favorite and I cannot take enough photos of it's natural beauty.

Ahhh.... nothing better than an outdoor campfire. Even though I may be a vegetarian, my husband is not and will not hesitate to grab a chunk of Kolbasa sausage and put it into the hot fire. It has always been a favorite of his!!

The weather out in the mountains has been rather on the cool side, and lots of rains. The fire is a welcome addition as well to accommodate those chilly moments out here...

Scouting New Territory

Traveling into Alberta, Canada last week was a neat experience.
Even though the transition of British Columbia mountains had turned into the rolling hills of farming and prairie lands, it was a beauty that I had never seen before and I thoroughly enjoyed it... I cannot wait to visit Alberta again!

I have developed a deep fascination for these wind turbines. First time I have seem them in person and I am in awe! They are amazing... I couldn't get enough of these structures!!

Magic In Nature

It's been a bit since posting... my health hasn't been its best. Suffering seizures along with other health issues that kept me away from blogging but I feel it's time to show you that in amidst of these sore times, I'm always able to get out for a wee bit to enjoy nature as you all know how much I really L-O-V-E it.

So many campgrounds to drive around and they are relatively empty so we take advantage to pull in to have a campfire picnic. Blu sits by the wood pile awaiting for the trail walk ahead!

The weather is warming up beautifully and tree buds are everywhere up here in the forests.

Little trails scattered all over the place takes us to little nooks and crannies of the forest, I wish I had the time and energies to take them all...

We arrive at the lakefront. What a magical place, so different from the world we just stepped out of!

You can see how warm of a day it is by the folks in the distance. They are wearing t-shirts and short pants!

It's been snowing off and on here yet. Spring is stubborn in arriving but I'm not too worried, it will get here in plenty of time. Our mountains, trees, and wildlife can use the moisture to prepare for the summer heat to come.

As for wildlife, it once again wandered along the creekside in front of my apartment where I usually gaze at the ducks floating along the water. The deer are a normal sight in the city wherever you go... I decided to zoom in on this fella, from my third floor apartment, looking for food along the bankside. It was quite a distance so sorry it isn't the clearest of all...

Purple Day- Epilepsy Awareness

Purple Day.

As many of you that have been following my blog over the years know that I have been suffering Epilepsy for years and have yet to get my Tonic Clonics (Grand Mal) seizures fully under control but I must say, my seizures have lessened considerably in the last year due to good medications, better diets, and just overall better daily habits.

Purple Day was created by a young girl by the name of Cassidy Megan in 2008 who also suffers from epilepsy and this is her way of giving the world awareness of Epilepsy and to those that suffer it. It is an awesome campaign and I know that there are so many that support it! I hope that you will please support it as well by wearing anything purple, be it a purple shirt or as simple as small piece of purple jewelry. It would be appreciated!

Spring Is Upon Us

A walk to a little lake shows that it is thawing out. The edges are water, the center is still ice but very thin.
We took Blu for a walk and he was eager to sniff out the forest!
What a bundle of energy.

We took turns walking him as he can be quite a handful out there in that big world!

The mountains lining the area show that winter is still somewhat active... but I am sure it won't be like that forever. Spring is arriving quick.

The Jeep nestled among the pines still have its winter tires on but not for long, I think it's safe to say, the summers will go on now. The day temperatures have been absolutely beautiful lately!

At the end of the walk (or should I say runaround), Blu is even pooped out and a carry back to the Jeep from Marcell is almost what he craves but I know he's going to have sweet dreams tonight. =)

Bighorn Sheep- Camera Critters

I found this young Bighorn sheep wandering by its lonesome on this dirt road we were traveling. I expected to see the pack somewhere close behind or up ahead but didn't. It looked a little lost. Poor little guy, hopefully he knows what he's up to. =)

Visiting The Canadian Geese

It was a lovely day to visit the Bird Lake and lots of people were thinking the same thing.
We leashed up Blu and gosh, how he loves to go on his walks! As soon as he sees that leash, he jumps and rolls and whines and it's next to impossible to get his walking harness on!!

Even though there's still ice on the lake, the Canadian Geese are rolling in. How delightful to see my favorite bird in action again. It won't be long before the little ones arrive, I am sure!

The ice in the pictures almost look like water at some points, it's really quite pretty!

I watch as some of them fly in from the distance and the slide in and it makes me chuckle.

Blu loves to watch them as well. Here he is posing with Marcell on a resting bench. I'm amazed he actually stood still for this shot!!

Onlookers sit and enjoy the birds and the warm sunshine...

Along The Riverbank

Oh, it has been a while since I posted. A lot has been going on.
My old computer crashed and I lost a lot of valuable files, photos, information, etc.
A new computer is up and running.

My life has many twists and turns that I don't even know where to start but I thank God each day for the beautiful little family I have and for the friends I have here in Blogland. (hug)

We took a short trip out last weekend, I snapped a few photos of the beautiful sunshine day that welcomed us in the morning.

Drive Part 2- The Country

To add to that last post...

The skies that day were definitely having its moods up there. Sometimes it would be beautifully sunny but other times it seemed so angry.

Going down this steep summit was a challenge and there were a lot of runaway lanes such at this one. I would hate to ever have to use one, that's for sure, but it's good to know they are there!

Scoping out the rivers for Spring fishing is fun as there are so many up here. This one is so perfect and you can see how cold it is by the blues that run along the rocks...

At the bottom we choose the direction we want to continue. What a different world down here.

It's the country world but with the majestic of the mountains. It's beautiful. And hardly any snow but yet it's still quite cold. I'm not really used to seeing the country and it's really very beautiful indeed!

I see this neat watering hole, I suppose, built out of a hollowed out tire. How neat!

A couple of cows just linger around probably just chatting a little about this and that...

I see buildings that I'm not really familiar with in my area and wonder "what's that for?" but just adore how they look!

There's a country store with this gigantic grinning monkey sitting on top that made me giggle that I could not resist snapping a pic of... teehee =)

And of course, got to have the bales of hay tucked neatly under the roof of the barn to feed the animals... perhaps those 2 cows are headed over there for lunch! =)

*Just a note, the following pics may be not as sharp as normal as I did sneak these out through windows as stopping was impossible...* =)

This winter here shows a lack of snow but cooler temps. remain in our neck of the woods and I'm not one little bit unhappy about that at all!! Year after year we trudge in so much of the white stuff so I welcome the break!

It really doesn't take long to find it (snow) though if you really want to have it for your winter pleasures. About a 2 hour drive or less and you are knee deep in the stuff.

Yesterday we decided to take the plunge and take a ride.

The highway signs above indicated that indeed we needed to be aware that snow was imminent on the pass... no problem, we are prepared for winter driving, everyone is in this part of British Columbia.

The roads are in good shape so far, the odd snowbank on the mountaintops pose no threat at all!

A "Deer Caution" sign warns us that these critters are out and about...

... but I really haven't seen a whole lot of them except for one that scooted gingerly up the mountainside.
Can you see him?

I see a lot of these beautiful icicle formations that are from the waterfalls that trickle down the rocks in the Spring and Summer. They are awesome to see and so much more massive than my camera shows. They are scattered along this highway.

You can see as we climb the summit the blues of sky coming alive and the clouds are dancing around the snow crusted firs. It's really starting to look pretty up here.

It's like a marshmallow world!

We are almost nearing the summit as we can see the avalanche control arms which stop traffic from going any further but today, it's safe to go through.

It's good to have people in high places watching out for these situations... this avalanche tower does one of those jobs.

Well all, that's part of the tour. There's a bit more, and I will bring it on soon.

Camera Critters- Blu

I guess I should update on this little critter... we took Blu last week for his first puppy shots at the vet and he handled it a lot better than I thought! He was a real trooper. He is such a bundle of energy no matter where he goes and who he sees.
Being a purebred Yorkie there is so many things to watch out for so we have to keep our eyes and ears open to everything on this little jitterbug.
I cannot believe how much joy it is to have a little dog in our lives, he is a lot of fun regardless of how many shoes that have been chewed up, books have been shredded to pieces, clothing has been nibbled to threads, blankets have been pulverized.... oh gosh, maybe I should retract that last statement!
Nah... we still love the little fella and we could not imagine life without him!!

His favorite game is to fetch his blue tug rope up and down the hallway and honestly, he can do this for hours!! (sigh)

He brings it back and barks a couple times to let you know that he retrieved it. Good boy Blu!!

After a long days of "fetch" he can sometimes be seen sitting up here on the bed with Tomba but only if we help him up on the bed. Those little legs don't get him up very far. Tomba really doesn't care too much at all!

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay

A couple nights ago, the Olympic Games 2010 Torch Relay arrived in town... passing the flame onto a few lucky folks that were able to continue to bring that journey of the flame to light the Olympic Cauldron in Vancouver, BC on February 12.

(I apologize in advance for the quality of the pics... it was a fast paced event and dark.)

The leader of the of the pack was Torch 2... (it read that on the license plate!) Not sure where Torch 1 was... =)

The first runner comes down... ahhh... such pride!

Of course, we jump in the Jeep, battling with traffic to meet with the runners downtown... whew! We made it!
With her family by her side, she waits with excitement and honor for the next Olympic runner to arrive!

It's impossible to get Blu to stay still. Gee, my 3 1/2 month old Yorkie puppy is a bundle of energy but every once in a while, I'll get him to hold still for approximately 1.5 seconds, barely long enough to snap a fairly good enough portrait of the fur baby.

But the little puppy really does need his zzz's after tearing around the apartment and causing havoc (sigh) and then, and only then is when I'm able to get a better shot of him...

Yesterday we endured some very springlike weather after such a difficult cold but dry winter in the last couple months. How nice to go out and see the sunshine and feel it's glorious warmth and see the snow melting!!

Down the highway we cruised towards the alps in towards our little lake that we love to walk along, regardless of the season. Hopefully we'll be able to take our new puppy, Blu, one day when weather allows.

The little rustic farms are still busy with animals and such; only a skiff of snow lays around the area, I am sure the horses are happy they can get out in that sunshine!

Along the route we spot the old Perry Creek Water Wheel of Fort Steel. The Historical Town of 1890's that has been restored, you can see some of the buildings in the background. Worth visiting if you ever get down in this area! I did do a little write up and photos in one blog post a while back here if you are interested to see it-- Fort Steel- British Columbia

When we arrived at the lake, it was iced over, of course. The sun's glare off that ice was really bright indeed!!

Off in the distance we saw ice fishermen which in some ways made me a tad nervous as the lake was fairly shallow from my previous knowledge of fishing here in warmer weather and I did see puddles of water forming on the ice.

Marcell walked a bit out and yes, the ice did crack a bit under his weight but perhaps this end of the lake is a little thinner and that's why everyone is over there...

In our walk, we spotted something shiny and yellow in the branches...

Upon inspection, it turned out to be a perfectly good fishing lure that Marcell took no time in untangling from it's web of branches and perhaps it will be the one that will catch the "big" one this summer! =)

A pretty day to take a walk along the lake, I'm sure glad to have the day off to such that, the conditions were just perfect!

My New Puppy

My new puppy BLU is adapting well! He is just perfect for us and so small but full of love.He was a gift from a regular customer who breeds these little guys and left one aside for me just in time to hand him off at 3 months old. I was deeply touched and she knew exactly how much this would make my world a little better in coping with my illness.
I have not shed so many tears for such a precious little gift!

Here is BLU... it is so hard to photograph him. He is a bundle of energy and most of the time he would not sit still unless he was sleeping!

.... the Autumn season is in full gear around here with the occasional snowfall that melts within the valley but paints a lovely portrait along the Steeples of the Rocky Mountain range. The wildlife is getting active now with bears and elk and deer being spotted among the forests... it makes for an amazing time of the year.
I hope that I can soon be around to visit you all more on a regular basis.

Last weekend we went for a ride but we always throw our fishing rods in the back of the Jeep with our neoprene waders just in case we come across a lake in our travels.
I didn't pack my fly rod this time but only my spin cast outfit and came across a teeny lake and we took our chances.
Lots of dragonflies hovered around...
I had some nibbles but nothing great in this particular lake...

This dragonfly zoomed past me... can you see it?

We drove along the river and saw the mist slowly seeping onto the roadsides.

It's that time of the year when the weather cools down and with the kids back to school, the parks and beaches are becoming more and more deserted.
We noticed this on our last trek around the parks...

An empty picnic table hides among the shaded pines...

The waterline buoys marks the swimming area but no swimmers to be found.

My husband peers around to see if anyone else lurks, however the park is peaceful.

Off in the distance is the summer cabins that line the lake...

Upon gazing this lounge area of one cabin, I notice it is also deserted ...

Upon closer inspection shows that it truly is a quite neighbourhood now.

Once full of diving children and cries of glee, now lays silent with pink peaks of mountain alps emerging from the tree tops.

The circled buoys will bob quietly until the ice solidifies them into orbs of snow.

For Skywatch I am placing the mountain peaks that were dusted with snow that we have seen around the area. Yes, it's cold enough for the Rockies to be snowed upon in the last few days.
Not sure how long it will stay as the temperatures are warming up again, but it's fine by me with cooler temps. I am NOT a summer person, never have been never will be, that is why I live here!

Black Crow Convoy

Was out for a ride and noticed this Osprey perched up on the branches of this old tree and a lot of black crows soaring around this fella.
Not too sure what was really going on but as I snapped, the big bird suddenly had enough of the harassment and decided to leave his perch but not without the escort of the black crows swooping and circling as he flew out of sight.

The black crows continue the escort until he's right out of the area...

Lazy Hazy Brain Dayz

Need some time from here. Yesterday I was pulled away by medics after falling from a seizure and suffered 6 tonics more at the Hospital. I'm tired, my world looks dull and hazy and I can't function well. 600mg now of Dilantin increase and 600 Topamax along with the Lorezapam. I pray it will calm the brain. But now, I need rest. My body truly hurts, bruised and battered like I've not seen for so long. I'll see you all in a couple days ... hugs.♥ ~Michele~

Strolling Through The Park

We were able to get out on the weekend for a short short time to go for a walk in the park now that Marcell is feeling better (hug♥) and it was nice weather to do so.

Can you see the little bird perched on the stump? He was a bit nervous so this is all I could get!

The Squirrel And The Pine Cone

Walking through the bush the other day, we heard some munching overhead and saw this little fella furiously attacking this pine cone up on the branch.
He held onto the cone with his dear life and pulled off the scales just as easily as we eat corn on the cob!
It was fun to watch this little guy strip it down to the white core and pull it into his hideaway into the tree...

**An update on the last post that I had written, my hubby is on the mend. The spider bite on the head is still a little swollen but has gone down immensely! No longer does he suffer the spasms and headaches he had for the last week. He still takes medications to fight off any bacterial infections that remains in his body but otherwise, I am happy to say, he is getting better!
Thank you from both of us for all your get well wishes!! It meant so much to him! ♥

A Drive Up The Mountain...

A drive up high in to the mountains and trees give a beautiful settings of lush green grasses and mountain buttercups... it's high up here so it's so much cooler than down in the valley where the sun beats down and is hot.
But gee, the mosquitoes are plenty!

Little trails meander into the bush for hikes...

Up at the top of the mountain... at the lodge, catskiing equipment line up anxiously awaiting snow to fill the Rockies so skiers can enjoy the thrill of skiing down these beautiful peaks!

Yes, I know the pictures are poor but I still wanted to show the story...

We were cruising along the farmer's fields and watching the cows munching on grasses in the hot sun when I noticed the deer remains lying way off in the distance. Of course, a large mesh fence deters me from getting any closer so the action is extremely far away... good thing I have my lens.

I notice the Bald Eagle get up from the remains and circle his dinner.

He soars up in the air, does a few turns ...

Eventually he heads way over to the center fencing towards the power lines and sat perched there for quite some time and perhaps was annoyed of my presence even though my distance was quite extreme... I'm not sure.

Island Lake Resort

A beautiful lodge nestled up here in the Rocky Mountains... it's the Red Eagle Lodge which is part of the Island Lake Lodge Resort.

The majestic peaks of the Lizard Range in the British Columbian Rocky Mountains tower over this beautiful area! The deep dry powder of Island Lake has become a thing of legend producing some of the most incredible images of powder skiing ever caught on film.
No, this is not snow on the mountains! Not yet.
