"Maureen Levins"
God's heart was filled with sadness, for what he saw in man.
So he sent a mighty flood to rise, across all the land.
The rain came down as tears, as all of mankind died.
Except for Noah's family, and two animals of each kind.
It rained for forty days, and forty long nights too,
As God wept upon the land he'd made, and for all of mankind, too.
And then God stopped his tears, and the sun shone bright once more;
And Noah opened the arc's windows, and also the arc's door.
The waters slowly 'ceded, and a dove sent to explore,
Was sent out to search for land, and one day came back no more.
And then God in his mercy, promised Noah's family and wife,
That ne'er again would rain destroy, all mankind and life.
As a reminder of his promise, God painted up so high,
A bow of many colors, to dance across the sky.
God's promise good back then, is just as good today,
As any promise ever made, in answer when you pray.

Very beautiful.
But here in the Holy Land we have no rainbows and no rain for so long.
In a few days members of all three faiths are coming together on a dry hilltop to pray for rain.
Lovely words to go with a gorgeous photo.
I have never read this before; it brought tears to my eyes. Lovely autumn photo with the rainbow and God's promise!

Marvelous!
So pretty to see, so difficult to photograph; nice capture Michele
When we were in Scotland this summer we saw a rainbow so brilliant in hue that all we could do was sit and stare. We pulled off the road to watch it because it was full and complete right in the field beside us. Alas, we had all put our cameras in the back of the van because of the downpour, so the brilliant treat was one we could only share with those who were there.
Thank you for sharing these words and your beautiful photograph with us.
Magnificent, both words and photos!
Lovely Autumn golds framing the rainbow!
Stunning photo. What a beautiful symbol of hope

I'm thankful for that promise, too, as the world seems to have turned away from God again.
