When we arrived here 30 mins. prior to this shot, it was a beautiful sunny and clear sky. The skies up here are temperamental. Be prepared when traveling up to your alpine mountains because they can rain or snow on you when you least expect it!
Please don't forget to see Tom for the Sky Watch blogroll!

Michele,
I hope you'll forgive me for coming back and leaving a long comment. I just read the Writer's Almanac for today, and this poem made me think of your photo!
For All
by Gary Snyder
Ah to be alive
on a mid-September morn
fording a stream
barefoot, pants rolled up,
holding boots, pack on,
sunshine, ice in the shallows,
northern rockies.
Rustle and shimmer of icy creek waters
stones turn underfoot, small and hard as toes
cold nose dripping
singing inside
creek music, heart music,
smell of sun on gravel.
I pledge allegiance
I pledge allegiance to the soil
of Turtle Island,
and to the beings who thereon dwell
one ecosystem
in diversity
under the sun
With joyful interpenetration for all.

You know, Michele, I just can't help but notice the rocks in this shot, and I am a sky watcher, not normal that I miss out on a storm for rocks, but the way you captured them in this shot, the crystal clarity of the lake, phenomenal.

Michele, what other to say but this photo is just spectacular! You are really amazing!
Michele, I am not usually lost for words (in fact some might say I have a tendency to use too many, hehe) but this picture leaves at a loss because none of the superlatives that come to mind are adequate! Thanks for sharing your beautiful part of the world with such superb images. The post above, jeeping, is also great!
Wow, yes, that is seriously stunning! I love the foreground. I actually just read this week about how important focusing on an interesting foreground is. Often we are too interested in the subject matter, that we neglect the stuff around it. You did an amazing job!!!!

Gorgeous shot of the lake! I love the reflection and seeing the rocks in the water.
